The Spring fling area today at Sugarbush. It was nice to see consistent snow coverage on the trails.
The Easy Rider slope near the Village Double (elevation approx. 1600'). Mango said that this was basically just bare ground and mud last weekend. Today they even had the lift turning and coverage was good enough that people were skiing it.
J.Spin on the skier's right of Ravenna's Way. At this elevation (approx. 2400') the snow was beginning to get a bit sloppy but it was still fun and challenging skiing. And hey, for me even heavy powder beats hard pack.
Mango thrashes through the snow-covered bumps of Moonshine. I thought this picture showed nicely how thick the snow was at this elevation (approx. 1900'). As you can see, instead of a spray, the snow flies off more in chunks. This was very reminiscent of the snow at the lower elevations of Red Mountain B.C. during our trip earlier this month. I have a hard time gauging snow this wet, but I'd say 12% to maybe even 13% H2O content. You really need to stay in charge or this stuff will get you.
